The Batavierenrace is a relay race. It will take place the second weekend of May (10-11-12). Each year approximately 8,500 students participate. This makes it the world’s largest relay race, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. The route of the Batavierenrace consists of 25 stages, which are together over 175 km long. It starts in Nijmegen and ends near Enschede, at the University of Twente campus where the Batavierenfest is held. The length of the stages varies between 3 km and 10 km.
We signed up as ECU’92 and we need some participants! You’ll have to decide which stage you want to run, as they are divided in length, and time of the day. First come, first serve! If you aren’t sporty at all, don’t worry! The weekend is both about running and partying.
The price for participating in the weekend will be around 45 euro. It includes among other things participation in the race, accomodation for the weekend and dinner night.
