We're Anne and Daniëlla, 23 and 19 years old and both living in Utrecht. Anne studied veterinary medicine for 3 years, but decided to switch to Economics last year. He also lived in Belgium for a year. Daniëlla is also in her second year of Economics. Hallo kleine gele visjes,

Wij zijn Anne-To en Martine en jullie moedervissen voor deze week! Wij zijn nu tweedejaars en volgen de Engelstalige bachelor. Om het voor jullie nu nog even simpel te houden, hebben wij voor een Nederlandstalig liedje gekozen wat jullie ongetwijfeld allemaal kennen. Namelijk; ‘Blub ik ben een vis’ van K3!! We vonden dit een toepasselijk liedje voor jullie kleine gele visjes in deze onbekende (blauwe) stad en nieuwe studie. En wij, als jullie moedervissen, zullen jullie tijdens deze introductieweek een beetje wegwijs maken. Natuurlijk willen we er ook voor zorgen dat onze groep goed vertegenwoordigd is tijdens de sportmiddag, de stadswandeling en natuurlijk ‘the battle of the bands’.
We zijn van plan er een leuke, gezellige week van te maken en wij denken dat dat zeker goed moet komen.

BLACK EYED PEAS

Hello Fellas,

We are Fenna and Milena, coaching the group ‘Black eyed peas – I’ve got a feeling’,  22 and 21 years old and proud third year students of USE.

Fenna is a real Dutch girl, who’s living in Utrecht since last November. She sells bread and pasteries during the weekends, and sometimes brings along some for her friends/roommates. And Saturday evenings is her standard night out. Her passion is volleyball, and after being out for a while because of injuries, she’s starting this year again.

Unlike Fenna, Milena is quite unsure about her identity – born in Bulgaria but grown up in Germany and now living in the Netherlands does not contribute to a soon insight. After two years she feels quite cozy in the busy streets of Utrecht and tries to escape Wilder’s fangs by learning Dutch. Just like Fenna, Milena loves playing volleyball and we both herewith strongly recommend you the largest volleyball association in Utrecht – Van Slag.

We are a harmonic team with similar interests and attitudes. With all our hearts and soul(s) we will guide you through the start of your study as a newbie and help you with all we can.

THE PRODIGY

Hi freshmen!

We're Leonie and Mariska, 21 and 20 years old. Two years ago we were also freshman like you are now, we met each other in our introduction group and since that moment we're partying and going on holidays together. Last year we went to Milan and also on the study trip to Sarajevo and Split. This year we’ll visit in any case Rome and maybe also other cities or countries. Other things we like to do is sport, Leonie likes to chase a ball with a stick in her hands at the hockey field and Mariska likes to hanging out between the bodybuilders at the fitness school. Because we’re very tough girls we are starting this year kickboxing, so watch out! But enough about our fabulous lives! As for now it's your turn to enjoy your introduction period and we can guarantee you, you'll have a great time with us! For sure we’re the most hilarious coaches you can have, so enjoy the moment. We hope we can make you enthusiastic about Utrecht and obviously about the greatest study, namely economics! So let's get this party started!

Hi  everybody,

We are Joris and Priscilla. We have met each other during the introduction week last year and we are friends since that week.  Joris is born in Zwolle and moved to Utrecht last year. Priscilla is born in Nieuwegein and still lives there.  Besides our common hobby to have drinks, we both are very sportive. Joris is a great soccer player. He plays in the tenth team of Odyseus’91 in Utrecht. Priscilla’s hobby is thaiboxing, so be prepared guys!

We had a great time during our introduction week and made a lot of friends there. We want to give you the same good experience and the chance to meet the people who will join you the next couple of years. Studying is much more fun when you have a nice group of friends around you. So coming week is very important! You will experience a lot of the city Utrecht and will learn that it has ‘No Limits’. We hope you will join us with all activities this week and we that we will make a lot of fun together!

THE VILLAGE PEOPLE

Hi freshmen!

 We are Lars Bos en Thomas Maas. This year we will start our 3^rd year of the Bachelor Economics & Business Economics at Utrecht University. We both come from Groningen and know each other for around 8 years now. We will compete in this years introduction theme ‘Battle of the Bands’ with our group: Village People! Our song will be YMCA which we will promote heavily throughout the streets of Utrecht. We are trying to get you guys also enthusiastic about our song, so it will again be a monster hit for the next year.

 Next to this music thing we will also try go get you guys (and girls) familiar with Utrecht and its hazards. Don’t feel afraid to ask, because we don’t bite! And free beers for those who shout (and dance) the YMCA loudest!

You are in the fortunate position to be guided these days by some great tutors.

And if you’re totally lucky you will be guided by us. We’re Romy de Koning and Isabelle Jongeneel. By the time you’re reading this we will be second year students at USE. We both live in Utrecht and hopefully we can show you how much fun this city can be. Dear students,

Your life at the Utrecht University is about to start! As your coaches, we are happy that you signed up for the introduction week.

As soon as we realized that the introduction week was coming closer and closer, we thought that it

would be a good idea to become coaches. We are very enthusiastic, sociable and open persons and we will do our best to make sure that you guys will have a great start as economics students at the Utrecht University!

We believe that besides having fun, the introduction week is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow students and to learn how to get around. Of course we are there to help you with that! 

During the introduction week we will guide you through Utrecht city centre. There will be plenty of time to socialize and to hang out at what we think are the “places to be”. Of course you are free to ask us anything you want to know about the curriculum, the university and Utrecht as a city or whatsoever.

We hope you will enjoy this week as much as we will do!

Hello and welcome!

We are Dwayne Valkenburg and Thomas van Huijgevoort, 22 and 19 years old. We are second year students at the USE. We are both from Holland. Dwayne is from Zoetermeer, a small shitty town near The Hague and Thomas is from Soest, an even smaller and shittier town close to Utrecht. Hobbies? Going out, play some soccer, tennis, drinking beers and of course.... Economics! That's so amazing, but you will discover yourself soon :P!! But before you are going to discover this, we will lead you guys through Utrecht, show you around, have some fun and most importantly: get to know each other while drinking a nice cold beer! While enjoying this, we'll tell you guys more about ourselves.
