| About ECU’92 ECU'92 is the study association for the faculty of Economics of the University of Utrecht. We organize multiple activities, both study-related and recreational to give our students a better learning experience as well as a fun time. As the name of the association already indicates, ECU’92 was founded in 1992. Currently we have around 1300 members. ECU’92 organizes parties, drinks, a company day, a study trip, a conference and lots of other activities for their members. ECU’92 has four objectives: • Promoting the social connections between the economics students at the University of Utrecht
• Improving the quality of the education at the Utrecht School of Economics.
• Reducing the gap between academic theory and practice
• Improving the relationship between alumni mutually and between the alumni and the Study Association ECU’92, respectively the University of Utrecht It is a nice addition to your student life if you join the study association. You can become active in a committee, visit the activities which are organized by ECU’92, meet your fellow students and, very important, buy your books with a discount. In the end you might even decide to do a board year and thus devote an entire year to the organization of ECU’92. So make sure you join ECU’92 in you first year! Committees
ECU’92 offers you a broad perspective of committees. It allows for a great opportunity to learn how to organize events, work together with fellow students but most of all it is just great fun! In committees you often work together with students from different years which makes the group very diversified and therefore a great way to meet new people. ECU’92 offers more substantive and non -substantive committees. A short overview of the committees offered by ECU’92: Activities Committee – Guess what we do all year long? Advisory Board – The advisory board assists the board in guiding the association Almanac Committee – This committee is going to make a book about ECU’92 and its memorable moments and is published once a year Book Foundation ECU – The Book Foundation makes sure you can buy your books every period Investment Committee – The investment committee (BvvK) keeps itself informed about everything happening... Company Day – Interested in meeting companies? Visit ECU’92’s Company Day Discussion & Lecture – The DLC keep you up to date with lectures and discussions on hot topics International Committee – The link between international and Dutch students! Editorial Committee – The Editorial Committee produces the Ecunomist Education Committee – The Education Committee monitors the quality of our study Freshmen Committee – The Freshmen committee is a committee existing of first year students only, guided... Lustrum Committee – This committee start in November/December and is going to organize the Lustrum week in 2011/2012 for ECU’92s 20th Birthday. Prom Committee – This year the committee is organizing a gala together with Helix and Perikles Introduction Committee – The IC organizes the introduction with USE for all the new freshmen Master/Alumni Committee – The MAC is the committee for all master students and alumni REBO Symposium – Next to the REBO party, and educational event is organized Relaxcie – The party committee! Study Trip Committee – The Study Trip committee organizes a trip to a foreign country Treasury Board – The financial watchdog of ECU’92
