Book Sale
Welcome to the website for ordering your study books. At the beginning of each period the book foundation of ECU’92 (in cooperation with book supplier New Bricks) organizes a book sale for all students who follow courses at the Utrecht School of Economics. Moreover, members of ECU’92 and members of other study associations allied to the OOFU book convention get a substantial discount on their study books when buying their books with ECU’92. Last year has showed that buying your books with ECU’92 and New Bricks is the cheapest way to buy your study books!

The Book sale is CLOSED . You can now order your books for period 1 of 2010-2011 online.

Book sale period 1:    13th and 14th of September 2010
Go to the online book shop

Via this online book shop you can order your books, which you can subsequently buy at the upcoming book sale. Approximately seven weeks before the next period in the academic year starts, the online book shop will be opened. If you do not have access to internet at home, you can use a computer at one of the ECU’92 rooms at Janskerkhof 12 or the U-building at University College. In the book shop you can select the books for the courses you are planning to take in the concerning period. After filling in your personal details, you can send your order to the book foundation. When your order is received properly, you will receive a confirmation of your order per e-mail. Always take this confirmation e-mail with you to the book sale; you need it as a proof that you have ordered your books. If you have not received a confirmation e-mail within a few hours after you ordered your books, please send an e-mail to education@ecu92.nl . Please take into account the deadlines for ordering your study books, since after these dates the book shop will be closed and you cannot order your books with ECU’92 anymore!

If you did not order your books in our online book shop, you risk the chance that the books you need cannot be ordered in other book shops on short term. For instance, the time of delivery of foreign books is usually at least three weeks. Moreover, due to our frequent contact with the course coordinators we are usually the first to know when a course has changed the mandatory literature.

The book sales take place on Friday before the start of the next period and Monday and Tuesday in the first week of the period in the canteen of the U-building at University College. The book sale is open on Friday and Monday from 10.00h till 16.00h and on Tuesday from 10.00h till 13.00h. Students who have ordered their books should come to buy their books during these opening times. On Tuesday from 13.00h till 16.00h left-overs (including the books of students who did order their books, but did not buy them before 13.00h) are sold according to the free sale format; first come, first served. For students who did not order their books this is the final opportunity to buy study books with ECU’92.

At the book sales you can pay either in cash or (preferably) by debit card. Note that credit cards are not accepted!

As stated above, members of ECU’92 and members of study associations allied to the OOFU book convention get a substantial discount on their study books when buying their books with ECU’92. At the book sale you will be asked to show your membership card of ECU’92 or of one of the other study associations to prove that you are a member. Please make sure that you have your membership card with you!

The deadlines for ordering your study books in our online book shop are:

For the 1st period: July 19th 2010
For the 2nd period: October 18th 2010
For the 3rd period: January 10th 2011
For the 4th period: March 28th 2011

The dates of the book sales are:

For the 1st period: 13th and 14th September 2010
For the 2nd period: 12th, 15th and 16th November 2010
For the 3rd period: 4th, 7th and 8th February 2011
For the 4th period: 21st, 26th and 27th April 2010

We hope we have informed you enough about the policy regarding the book sales. If you have any questions, please contact us via 030-2539680, education@ecu92.nl or come by one of the ECU’92 rooms at Janskerkhof 12 or University College, U-building, room 1.21.

Prices in the online book shop and in the confirmation e-mail you receive after ordering your books online are preserved from typing and publishing errors.
Shown prices are indicative only. Book foundation ECU, ECU’92 and New Bricks are entitled to instigate price changes.
Re-buy or trade-in of books is not possible.
Changing a miscopy for a book without flaws is only possible within eight days after buying the book and after showing your receipt.
